OUR TEAM
When you book with us, you'll be paired with one of our master barbers. Meet the team below.
Mario Malgeri
Mario Malgeri is the founder and owner of Gentleman Barber Lounge — and the vision behind every detail of it. An avid traveler and old soul, Mario spent years road-tripping across the country, documenting barbershops along the way and collecting the vintage memorabilia that now lines the lounge. Those travels reconnected him with the barbershop experiences of his childhood — sitting with his father and uncles — and in 2023, he turned that nostalgia into something real on the streets of Hoboken. Though not a barber himself, Mario brought together a team of skilled craftsmen and enlisted his cousin, Emmy Award-winning set decorator Regina Graves, to design the interiors — because at GBL, family builds everything. An actor by passion, his first on-screen role was fittingly a barbershop scene in Martin Scorsese's The Irishman — a detail that feels less like coincidence and more like destiny. Gentleman Barber Lounge is his house. And every guest is treated accordingly.
Founder
Tony Ciccone
Tony is the backbone of Gentleman Barber Lounge. As Director of Operations, he has been with the lounge since inception — overseeing construction, navigating the buildout, and helping bring the vision to life from the ground up. He manages guest relations with the ease of someone who genuinely loves people, and his sports and pop culture banter has become a lounge favorite in its own right. When Tony emerges, the room feels it. GBL would not be what it is without him.
Guest Relations
Master Barber
Louie G.
Originally from Ecuador, Louie brings over a decade of mastery to the chair — and an approach to grooming that is as much about the experience as the result. His signature clean skin fade is among the sharpest in Hoboken, and his command of the Italian Shave earned recognition from Proraso educator Sheldon Marcelle, who noted his natural ease with the craft. Every service under Louie's hands is unhurried, deliberate, and finished to the last detail — guests don't just leave looking their best, they leave feeling it. A man of few words, Louie lets the experience speak for itself. Sit with Louie. Leave like a Gentleman.
Master Barber
Lian C.
Born in Colombia, Lian brings over 12 years of precision to the chair. His signature — the Burst Fade Mullet — reflects a sharp command of modern technique, executed with control and restraint. Each service is approached with intent, tailored to the individual, never repeated. Outside the lounge, his work as a musician and songwriter informs the same sense of timing, structure, and detail he brings behind the chair. Sit with Lian. Leave like a Gentleman.
Master Barber
Lorenzo
Trained in Milan, Lorenzo brings a modern sensibility and a rare command of the scissors to every cut. His technique is precise, deliberate, and genuinely difficult to replicate — the kind of skill that speaks for itself in the finished look. Every guest is treated with respect and attention from start to finish. Sit with Lorenzo. Leave like a Gentleman.
Senior Citizen Specialist
Aunt Diane
Every Tuesday belongs to Diane. Mario's aunt and the soul of Gentleman Barber Lounge, she brings over 40 years of experience and an unmatched work ethic to every guest who sits in her chair. She owned and operated her own salon in Harrison for many years, and her mastery spans both ladies and gentlemen's styling — a versatility earned through decades of dedication. Every Tuesday, Diane leads our Senior Citizen Special, a service built around the care and craft she has delivered her entire career. There is no one quite like her.
Maintenance
Pete
Hoboken born and raised. Our guy behind the scenes. First in, last out. Every detail, every day — no exceptions. He's been a vital part of this operation since day one. No clippers, no chair — but this shop doesn't run without him. He's the reason GBL stays looking "picture perfect." This is his house too.
